Tips before we start

Peeling the skin off of a kiwi can get a bit frustrating. Here’s an easy trick for getting all of the fruit out of the skin:

Step 1: Using a spoon, wedge in between the skin of the kiwi and the flesh along a side. Slowly, scoop along the rind and around the flesh. how to cut a kiwi - kiwi salsa recipe

Step 2: When you’ve completed the circle, scoop out. Use the spoon to scoop out any remaining kiwi. how to cut a kiwi - kiwi salsa recipe

Step 3: Before you do anything else: turn on some salsa music. That’s right. Get down and shake that thang for at least 2 songs.cheap eats recipe kiwi salsa dance time illustration

Okay, now that you’ve got that down, back to the recipe (crank up those tunes, though)!

  1. Mmmmm sounds so good! We make a fruit salsa with strawberries, peaches, basil, and a little sugar. Amazing with cinnamon sugar pita chips.

    1. Ah, THAT sounds incredible! I miss having strawberries – they’re so expensive here! So are cherries. I haven’t seen any peaches.. I’ll have to try that sometime though. And cinnamon pita chips?! YUM!
